Getting Started

Book your free introductory consultation.

Not every introductory conversation will be the same, but the overall goal of each introductory conversation is to try and determine whether we can work collaboratively together and communicate well with each other. Some initial topics for our first conversations would be:

  • A quick review of my background, expertise, and influences.

  • A short chat about your current financial, retirement, and financial situation.

  • Discussion about my philosophy and general approach to financial planning.

  • Listening to your goals, concerns, and/or what keeps you up at night.

  • Collaboratively brainstorming on why and how you might benefit from working with a financial advisor and which of my services are going to be most useful for your unique situation.

  • A short discussion of fees.

You should expect that we will need a second, more detailed, conversation before we would begin officially working together or implementing any of my services. A few other things to consider:

  • Although Fangorn Wealth Management is primarily on-line, if we haven’t met in person (or I haven’t met your partner or seen you in a few years), then I encourage trying to find a time where I can meet you and/or your partner at a convenient location (coffee, breakfast, lunch).

  • Fangorn Wealth Management is a judgment free zone. I have made many investing mistakes, and am happy to share them! But to work together, we will need to be as honest as possible about some things. That won’t happen immediately, of course, but it is the goal. And from the beginning, your confidences are protected.

  • My calendar for these conversations is artificially constrained, but my practice is intended to be exceptionally flexible and convenient for you. Don’t hesitate to book a time on this calendar, and then reach out to me to suggest more convenient times for you.

  • Living with an emergency physician means I am very comfortable with “odd” schedules; don’t worry about suggesting times outside of normal business hours that are more consistent with your schedule.
